Bangladesh is set to face the West Indies in a three-match T20I series after a disappointing 3-0 loss in the ODI series and a 1-1 draw in the Test series. The Tigers are eager to bounce back despite the West Indies’ strong T20 history.
Opener Soumya Sarkar expressed optimism in a pre-match press conference, stating, “A few months ago, I played in the Global T20 here, and that experience was valuable. Instead of focusing on team reputations, we need to focus on playing well over 20 or 40 overs. If we excel in batting, bowling, and fielding, we believe we can win.”
Reflecting on recent performances, Soumya noted that while they had been scoring well in ODIs, inconsistencies had affected them recently. He is hopeful that the team will make a strong comeback in the T20I series with both batters and bowlers firing on all cylinders.
The first T20I match is scheduled for December 16 at 6:00 AM Bangladesh time, and Bangladesh aims to improve their T20 record in the challenging Caribbean conditions.
