Sourav withdraws GD against Taskin

A few days ago, national team pacer Taskin Ahmed was accused of beating up his friends. One of his friends, Sifatur Rahman Sourav, filed a General Diary (GD) against him. However, Taskin denied the allegations from the beginning. Now, the matter has been resolved within the families, and Sourav has withdrawn the GD against Taskin.

The issue was settled on Wednesday. Sourav told the media, “The complaint has been withdrawn after discussions between both families. Now it has been mutually resolved within the family. It all started from a small argument between two friends. I didn’t ask for an apology or withdraw the complaint earlier. Today, our families came together and resolved it. After filing the complaint, we talked to Taskin and his family. I decided to withdraw the GD, considering his career, but I first wanted to talk to him.”

Although Sourav wishes Taskin success in his career, there was still a tone of disappointment in his voice. He said, “Of course, he is my childhood friend. He still has a lot to offer for the Bangladesh team. I wish him all the best.”

Later, Sourav’s aunt, Jhuma Khan, added, “They asked for 48 hours. Today the matter was solved with the help of both families—parents, uncles all sat together and resolved it. The complaint has been withdrawn. At first, things weren’t this serious. The complaint was filed only for safety reasons, to make sure something like this doesn’t happen again. It was a promise. We believe it won’t happen again. Thank you, everyone. I’m proud to have stood for the truth.”
