Tamim: Investment Should Be in the Tournament, Not in Concerts or Elsewhere

The new BCB president, Faruk Ahmed, announced plans to revamp the BPL in a new format. However, with just a day to go before the 11th edition of the BPL begins, significant changes beyond a concert remain unseen. Addressing this, Tamim Iqbal emphasized the need to invest in cricket itself.

On Sunday (December 29), Fortune Barishal’s captain Tamim faced the media and stated,
“To be honest, I don’t see anything different other than the concert. I believe if we want to organize a different BPL, we must invest in cricket. That’s the most important thing. Investment should be in the tournament, not in concerts or anything else.”

Tamim further added,
“If we invest in cricket and the tournament, only then can we claim it’s a revamped BPL. Concerts were held in the past, and it has happened again this time. It was a great event, from what I’ve seen. I wasn’t in the country then.”

Emphasizing the need for change through cricket investment, Barishal’s captain remarked,
“It’s still a bit early to make comments as I don’t know what’s planned for tomorrow. It wouldn’t be fair to give a negative comment now. But if someone seeks my advice, I’d simply say this: if you want to change the BPL, invest in the tournament and cricket itself.”
