Tamim Iqbal, Bangladesh’s star opener, has been discharged from the hospital and is now at home with his family. The former Bangladesh captain returned home from Evercare Hospital in Dhaka on Friday. However, he is scheduled to visit the hospital again today (Saturday) for some tests and dental treatment.
Tamim was discharged from the hospital four days after undergoing a heart procedure to insert a stent. After his return home, a post on his official Facebook page simply stated, “Alhamdulillah.”
According to doctors, there is no immediate risk to Tamim’s health, but he will need to take extended rest at home and strictly follow medical advice. Another pressing question now arises—will Tamim be able to make a full recovery and return to cricket? Even while at home, he must remain in constant contact with his doctors.
The day after his surgery, Professor Abu Jafar, Director General of the Health Directorate, mentioned that it would take at least three months for Tamim to return to normal activities. However, once his body recovers from the effects of the surgery, he will be able to resume light physical activities and walking at home.
