Tamim’s Condition Improves – Hospital Authorities

All necessary medical procedures have been carried out to treat Tamim’s critical condition. By the grace of Allah, his condition is now stable. He suffered a heart attack, for which an angiogram, angioplasty, and a stent procedure were performed.

Providing an update on Tamim Iqbal’s latest condition, Dr. Rajib Hasan, the Medical Director of KPJ Specialized Hospital & Nursing College, informed the media. He explained how the stenting was performed, stating, “By the grace of Allah, the stenting procedure went very smoothly and efficiently. Cardiologist Dr. Moniruzzaman Maruf carried out the stenting. The blockage has been completely cleared. Although his critical condition has improved after the procedure, he is still not out of danger. It will take more time. We are doing everything we can for him. Please keep him in your prayers. We are hopeful that he will recover and return to us.”

Earlier in the morning, during a Dhaka Premier League (DPL) match at BKSP, Tamim Iqbal suddenly fell ill. Seeing the severity of his condition, he was immediately taken to KPJ Specialized Hospital & Nursing College for treatment.

The eighth-round DPL match between Mohammedan Sporting Club and Shinepukur Cricket Club was underway at BKSP’s field number three. After the toss, Tamim suddenly felt chest pain and informed team officials and his teammates. He was given initial medical treatment at BKSP’s medical center. Due to the severity of his condition, he was quickly transported to the nearby KPJ Specialized Hospital & Nursing College for further treatment.

A helicopter was also arranged at BKSP for his transportation, but the former Bangladesh captain was not in a condition to be airlifted.

With everyone’s prayers, Tamim will return to the field, InshaAllah.
