Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal are two of the biggest names in Bangladesh cricket. Beyond their performances on the field, they often make headlines on various issues. This time, chief national selector Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu spoke about these two star cricketers.
Hinting that Tamim’s return to the team may not be easy, Lipu said: “It’s very promising that Tamim has started playing again. I believe we will soon be informed whether he will be available for the Champions Trophy or not. If he is, that will be great.”
Regarding Tamim’s return, Lipu added: “Tamim needs to sharpen himself further. His fitness needs to improve as well. When a player desires something—especially someone who has been playing international cricket for so long—he surely knows how to prepare and sharpen himself for global tournaments. He knows what kind of support he can expect, or the board can offer him. I believe these things won’t be obstacles.”
