The Bangladesh team has left the country with dreams of winning the Asia Cup.

To take part in the upcoming Asia Cup T20 cricket tournament, the Bangladesh national team departed for the United Arab Emirates today in two separate groups. In the first phase, this morning, captain Liton Das, Zakir Ali Anik, Saif Hasan, Parvez Hossain Emon, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, and Shamim Patwary left Dhaka. In a press release, the Bangladesh Cricket Board announced that the second group will depart at 7:30 p.m.

Bangladesh will play in Group B of the Asia Cup. Their opponents there are Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and Hong Kong. Bangladesh will begin their Asia Cup campaign against Hong Kong on September 11, followed by matches against Sri Lanka on September 13 and Afghanistan on September 16 in the group stage.

Group A consists of India, Pakistan, Oman, and hosts United Arab Emirates. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super Four stage, and the two best teams from the Super Four will earn the right to play in the final.

Bangladesh will play all of their group-stage matches in Abu Dhabi. Each game will begin at 8:30 p.m. Bangladesh time. With the 2026 T20 World Cup in sight, this year’s Asia Cup will be played in the 20-over format.

After three consecutive T20 series victories, Bangladesh heads into this Asia Cup with renewed energy. Before departing, Liton Das had said that the team had never been this well-prepared. Boarding the plane to Abu Dhabi, he once again shared his dream: “I ask for prayers from the best fans in the world for me and my team. We are determined to give our best in the UAE. We’ll go match by match, but the ultimate dream is, of course, to lift the trophy.”
