The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Trophy tour has officially begun. Starting from Islamabad, Pakistan, the hosting country, on Saturday, the trophy will travel across various cities in Pakistan until November 25. From November 26 to 28, it will visit Afghanistan.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Saturday that the trophy might be displayed in Bangladesh from December 10 to 13 for four days. The display is expected to take place in Dhaka and Cox’s Bazar.
However, due to India’s objections, the ICC has canceled plans to take the Champions Trophy to three cities in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
There are still uncertainties regarding the Champions Trophy being hosted in Pakistan. India has expressed a preference to play its matches outside Pakistan, leading to ongoing disputes between the two nations. As the tournament draws closer, the ICC is under pressure to make decisions quickly.
Despite the conflicts, the ICC has included India in the trophy tour schedule. According to the itinerary, the trophy is expected to stay in India from January 15 to 26, 2024, before returning to Pakistan, the host nation.
