Bangladesh clinched the U-19 Asia Cup title by defeating India, becoming the best in Asia for the second consecutive time. On Monday night (December 9), the team, along with coaching staff, arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Speaking to the media upon their return, U-19 Asia Cup-winning captain Azizul Hakim Tamim shared bigger dreams with the trophy beside him. Tamim stated, “For us, the World Cup will be the ultimate test. We are preparing ourselves and moving forward with the aim of achieving even greater success.”
Dedicating the Asia Cup trophy to the nation, he added, “This trophy is not just ours; it belongs to the entire country. Watching the support from expatriate fans in the stands made us feel that we weren’t just playing but representing and brightening the name of our country.”
Moreover, during the final, the crowd erupted in chants of Takbeer before victory. This moment further energized Captain Tamim, who said, “Hearing the chants of ‘Allahu Akbar’ from the gallery made me incredibly proud as a Muslim. Those who were in the stands supporting us from morning inspired us to enjoy the game even more.”
