Tigers’ Strong Performances Reflected in T20I Rankings

Bangladesh is currently enjoying its best spell in T20I cricket history. The Tigers have won back-to-back series and set a new record with four consecutive match victories. On Sri Lankan soil, despite falling behind early in the series, Litton Das’s team made a remarkable comeback to seal a 2-1 series win. Returning from that tour with just a three-day break, the red-and-green brigade once again clinched a golden series trophy — this time against Pakistan at home, and with one match to spare.

Bangladesh’s cricketers delivered outstanding performances throughout these series. Their collective efforts have helped the team write a new chapter in its cricketing history — as Bangladesh had never before won a series against either of these two teams.

The Tigers’ strong showings have been acknowledged in the latest T20I rankings. The updated rankings show significant improvements for pace bowlers Mustafizur Rahman and Shoriful Islam. With the bat, Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Zakir Ali Anik have also made great strides in the rankings thanks to their impressive performances. Additionally, spin all-rounder Sheikh Mehedi has moved up the ranks.

Mustafizur has broken into the top ten among T20I bowlers. In the first two T20Is against Pakistan, he delivered miserly spells and took three wickets, jumping 17 places in the rankings. He now holds the ninth position among bowlers.

Other bowlers in the top ten include Adil Rashid, Varun Chakravarthy, Akeal Hosein, Adam Zampa, Wanindu Hasaranga, Ravi Bishnoi, Rashid Khan, and Arshdeep Singh. Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana has dropped out of the top ten.
