The curtain will rise on the mini World Cup, known as the Champions Trophy, on February 19. The Bangladesh national team is set to depart for the tournament about a week in advance. The Tigers will leave Dhaka for Dubai at 1 AM on Thursday (February 13).
Before the main tournament, the red-and-green representatives will play a warm-up match on February 17.
Ahead of their departure, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) held an official photoshoot with players and team management at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.
At the press conference, Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto shared the team’s ambitions for the tournament:
“We are going with the goal of becoming champions. All eight teams are quality sides and deserve to win, but I truly believe in our team’s capability. There’s no extra pressure; everyone is fully committed and believes we can become champions.”
He added:
“Only Allah knows what is written in our destiny. We are working hard and staying honest in our efforts. We all believe we can reach our goal.”
