World Record for Abhishek Sharma in T20 Debut

Indian star opener Abhishek Sharma has set a world record in international T20 cricket — becoming the second-fastest player to reach 1,000 runs in the fewest matches.

Abhishek created history in just 13 balls!

He achieved this milestone on Saturday at The Gabba in Brisbane, during the fifth T20 against Australia. The left-handed batter broke the record previously held by Australia’s Tim David.

On November 2 in Hobart, Tim David had reached 1,000 T20I runs in 569 balls after scoring 74 off 38 deliveries. But Abhishek surpassed him, taking only 528 balls to reach the same milestone.

He narrowly missed becoming the fastest Indian to reach 1,000 T20I runs. Abhishek played his 28th innings at The Gabba, while Virat Kohli achieved the feat in just 27 innings — remaining the quickest Indian to do so.

Abhishek was also a bit lucky that day — he was dropped twice within his first 11 balls, both before and after breaking the record. But he made full use of those chances to etch his name in the record books.
